Member circles

  • Book club

    The purpose of the Book Club Circle is to:

    Share reactions to contemporary books related to the WCC’s core values and actions;

    Provide opportunities for members to connections with likeminded women and with the WCC;

    Offer opportunities for members to explore themes related to the ways that women think and feel about climate change and women’s leadership.

    The Book Club Circle discussion typically considers the impact of societal structures on women and the paradoxical demands on all of us as we handle everyday life in a time of existential threat. Each gathering draws a different mix of participants who share their unique perspective on the book for the benefit of all.

    The Book Club Circle usually meets every 6 weeks online and is convened by Jenny Robinson. New members are welcome by contacting Jenny on drjennyrobinson@gmail.com.

  • Earth climate arts

    The purpose of the Earth Climate Arts Circle is to host a safe, intimate, nurturing place for us to share what moves us during these times of great uncertainty and unravelling: our joy, our grief, our rage and our hope, and/or thoughts and feelings about our beloved Earth and her Life, our Earth-Womanhood, and/or the present human-made climate crisis on our planet.

    To join this circle you don’t have to be a great artist! Our feelings can show in many ways including through photos, drawings, doodles, shapes, craft work, paintings – of places, skies, waters, Earth life, Womanhood, people, creatures, fancies. Or maybe you feel moved to write or tell a story, a poem, or music and lyrics, a tale from your travels, a short video - even limericks or cartoons!

    To join this circle or to send in an artwork to share contact one of the co-convenors Nettie Hulme at nettiehulme@gmail.com or Honey Nelson at honeynelson47@gmail.com.
